Yoga Class Descriptions

In each level we encourage you to listen to your inner wisdom as you’ve been with your body the longest – Practice what your entire being needs not just what the mind wants. Mostly allow the breath to guide and unfold your practice.

Yoga Basics

A great place to start. Begin a foundation in the practice. Even a non beginner may appreciate the gentle approach at the end of a week.

Intro to Primary Series

A moderate pace class preparing for Raja Yoga good for those newer to the practice. Also, for seasoned yogis who want a slightly slower pace and attention paid to detail of the fundamentals of the primary series. This unique practice blends the warmth generated within the body from the ujayi breath creating the perfect environment for yoga therapy (yoga chikitsa). This practice draws on the balance of strength and flexibility creating yoga on all levels of being.

Ashtanga Primary Series Yoga

Grounded in the Primary series. Deep breathing and a vigorous practice create heat from within. A class designed around challenging movements at a continuous pace. This unique practice blends the warmth generated within the body from the ujayi breath creating the perfect environment for yoga therapy (yoga chikitsa). This practice draws on the balance of strength and flexibility creating yoga on all levels of being. Ashtanga based.   Must be able to do weight bearing on the wrists as in adho mukha svanasana (downward facing dog).

Vinyasa

An all levels flow class linking asanas (postures) with the breath, each teacher will bring their own understanding of the practice blended with their own creativity. Students must be able to do weight bearing on their wrists as in as in adho mukha svanasana (downward facing dog).

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga directs the stimulation normally created in the asana portion of the practice deeper than the superficial or muscular tissues. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints. Suitable for almost all levels of students.Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.
